Print the base.
Update the story.
When the video or offer in the digital layer changes, keeping the same printout can reduce the need for a reprint. Work out when such a scenario makes sense.
The comparison covers update costs only. The first print run, common to both options, is not included. In the digital cost, include all the service required for the stated period.
Request a quote for this scenarioWhen does this model apply?
When the information being changed can stay in the digital layer, while the printout itself remains up to date and fit for use. This applies, for example, to replacing a product video, a seasonal presentation, progress on works or a team message.
When do you still need to change the print?
When important information on the paper changes, along with offer terms, mandatory details or brand identity. Updating a video does not fix outdated printed content. The print run may also need topping up after physical distribution.
How do we calculate?
Reprint = print run × cost per piece × number of updates × replacement share. Digital option = setup + number of updates × cost per update. The difference can be positive, zero or negative. We do not assume any sales growth, CO₂ savings or additional advertising effectiveness.
