What an AR label is
An augmented reality label is a product label that comes alive after you scan a QR code and point your phone: a video, an animation or buttons appear on it. It works in the browser, with no app, and the label itself remains ordinary print.
What an AR label can show
- Wine — the vineyard, the winemaker, the vintage, food pairing.
- Beer and drinks — the brewery, ingredients, a limited edition, a contest.
- Cosmetics — how to apply, ingredients, before and after results.
- Food — a recipe, origin, allergen information.
- Premium products — the brand story, proof of authenticity, warranty registration.
Why a label is a good medium
The label is always with the product: on the shop shelf, on the table and in the customer's home. You don't need to print extra materials, and the digital content can change — e.g. a seasonal promotion on the same label.
How to prepare an AR label
- A label design with a clear, distinctive image that the phone can recognise.
- A QR code and a short instruction on the label or the back label.
- A video or animation matched to the shape of the label.
- A test on a real bottle or package before production.
